The Royal Web is your most important tool in Storybook Valley, but it won’t just come to you. You’ll need to complete a series of quests and puzzles to get this magical web.

How To Unlock The Royal Web
After successfully rescuing Merida in Storybook Valley, your first task is to unlock the Royal Web. First, enter the room with Merida shortly after you arrive in Storybook Valley and talk to the Loremaster in front of you.
As the book tries to guide you to the location of the Royal Web, it loses the last of its power and breaks into pieces, which float around the room. You need to collect these pieces and return them to the Loremaster, but they can only be captured with the Royal Web.
Before the book loses its power, it can speak the beginning of a sentence, so we know there’s something related to the Royal Web somewhere in the room. Here’s how to find it:
You’ll first need the potion in Merida’s bag. Her bag can be found on the left side of the room, next to the stairs. Once you have found the potion, use it to increase the power of your pickaxe. You can now use the pickaxe to destroy the petrified wood around the room!
The painting consists of four rings. The two inner rings have been correctly connected to form an image. You will need to interact with the two pillars on either side of the circle to manipulate the outer rings. Move the rings until they form a picture of Sleeping Beauty.
Interact with the pillar on the left to rotate the rings twice. Then interact with the pillar on the right to rotate the rings three times. Once all the rings have been successfully aligned and the portrait of the princess is complete, the Royal Net will appear in a circular box. Open this box to collect the Royal Net!
How to Capture Fragments with the Royal Net
In the next step of your adventure in Storybook Vale, you will need to capture the fragments that previously flew out of the book and return them to restore some of the book’s power. You can use the Royal Net to achieve this goal.
Snippets have their own minds and can behave unpredictably. There are two techniques for catching them, depending on how they fly.
If a Snippet is high in the air, quickly press X to glide down and then capture them in your net. You can also capture Snippets flying near you by swiping vertically or holding X to charge your net and spin it in a circle. A charged swing will capture everything around you at once!
How to Open Doors with the Royal Net
Snippets aren’t the only way you can use the Royal Net. You can also use it to spin wheels and open doors in Storybook Vale. There are two examples of these doors in the room where you unlock the Royal Net.
At various corners of the valley, you will see vertical wheels and horizontal wheels. Simply swipe up or down to open the vertical wheel towards you, and do a power-up swipe to open the horizontal wheel.
