South Korean publisher Gravity Game Tech, which released the first installment of the classic Ragnarok in 2002, has now announced that the mobile version of the game is ready for launch and is available pre-installed on smartphones in Southeast Asia. Players can download the game on Android and iOS via their respective mobile store pages, while on PC it can be downloaded through Google Play Games. The game servers will be officially launched on the last day of October.
Although the developer states that Gravity Game Tech’s main goal is to port the original Ragnarok experience as completely as possible to mobile devices, in reality the interface, graphics, and content have undergone many changes. In particular, a team of 100 experts significantly updated the backgrounds, created new 3D models (although Ragnarok was originally dominated by 2D graphics), and optimized classic game mechanics to Adapted to the operation of smartphones.
Players will still be able to:
- Capture MVP monsters, and new monsters will appear from time to time.
- Form a team to complete tasks together.
- Participate in 50×50 PvP battles that received many positive reviews during the closed beta phase.
- Choose from six major categories and twelve minor categories.
- Let your hero show his unique personality through more than 500 sets of classic costumes;
- Participate in regular gaming events and seasonal challenges.
The project will also introduce features such as auto-play, paid VIP levels and rewards, and improve the character’s quality of life through a trading system. Overall, it seems to be trying to retain the core content of the original while adding some fresh gameplay details, thus arousing strong expectations from fans.
